Thwarting Iran’s nuclear ambitions: Diplomacy or War

The American-Iranian talks, under Omani auspices, have entered their third week. The stakes are high. During Obama’s time in office, there was a sense of urgency due to the understanding that if diplomacy fails Israel will probably attack the Iranian Nuclear facilities, but there was no deadline. Also, other parties joined the United States after the secret phase of the talks in Oman. Now, however, the talks are bilateral, without the Europeans, Russians or Chinese in the room, but there is also a deadline of several weeks, though it can of course be extended. The Iranians probably assess the President Trump is serious in both his preference for negotiating an agreement and his determination to use military force to block a dash toward a warhead, if diplomacy fails. Is there a formula which can satisfy both sides and help avoid a strike by either the United States or Israel?
